Message From The Principal

Welcome to the 2026/2027 school year! We hope you had a wonderful summer with time for rest, rejuvenation and connecting with family and friends. I am extremely excited to be joining the St. Patrick's community as the school principal for the first semester. As the OCSB spiritual theme is Nourishing New Beginnings, I look forward to building connections and working collaboratively with staff, students and families. Our staff is excited for the year ahead and look forward to meeting our new and returning students on Tuesday, September 1st. We have included our back to school information in this edition of the newsletter.

Please ensure your child is familiar with their bus route and/or walking route so that they are arriving on time.

St Patrick’s is a uniformed school and our uniform supplier is Top Marks.  All families are asked to open an account with Top Marks if you have not already done so and to place your order directly to the company.  Top Marks will deliver the uniform to your home address.  Please visit their website at: www.topmarks.ca with the St Patrick’s High School code PAT02

UNIFORM INCLUDES:

TOP (all items from Top Marks with St Patrick’s logo)

• white polo shirt / white blouse or white long or short sleeve shirt with St Patrick’s school logo

• St. Patrick’s V-neck sweater, Crew neck sweater, or rugby shirt are permitted; older versions of the uniform (i.e. the St. Patrick's Intermediate hooded sweatshirt) are no longer part of the uniform

BOTTOM 

• black dress pants/cargo pants 

• black skort or tartan kilt

• black cargo shorts

PLEASE NOTE: 

• 7/8 physical education uniform includes black gym shorts and a grey t-shirt and is mandatory for all grade 7 and 8 students.

If your order has not arrived by the first day of school, we ask that your child arrive at school in black bottoms (dress pants, cargo pants, skirt - NO jeans, leggings or jogging pants) and a white-collared polo or dress shirt. 

Donation of used uniforms for families in need would be greatly appreciated to help replenish our Used Uniform supply.

Start-Up Information Grades 9-12

Schedules for students in Grades 9–12 will be available on my.studentinfo.ca by Friday August 28th. 

On the first day of school, students should go directly to their Period 1 classroom and then follow their schedule for the rest of the day. Staff will be on hand to help students locate their classes. Any new students or students who cannot access mySPH can check in to Student Services for their scheduling information.

Students with E-Learning Courses

Students with E-Learning courses must report to the Learning Commons on September 1st, 2nd and 3rd for their E-Learning periods. During this time, students will receive important information on how to access and navigate their on-line courses.

Transportation 

OC Transpo Presto Pass

Students who are eligible can collect OC Transpo Presto Passes on the following dates:

Tuesday - August 25th  - 9:00 am - noon - Grades 7 & 8

Wednesday - August 26th - 9:00 am - noon - Grades 9 & 10

Thursday- August 27th - 9:00 am - noon - Grades 11 & 12

To determine if your student is eligible to receive a Presto Pass, please refer to ottawaschoolbus.ca 

* Please note: Student fees must be paid before eligible students can collect their Presto passes this week. Student fees can be paid through School Cash Online. We will accept cash at pick-up but it must be exact change. Remaining Presto Passes will be distributed during the first week of school.

Yellow Bus Transportation

Students with Special Education Transportation

Students with special van transportation will receive communication from their OSTA driver prior to the first day of school. Please contact ottawaschoolbus.ca if you have any questions 

Lockers

This year, due to availability, lockers will be assigned to students in grades 7, 8 and 9. Students can view their locker number in my.studentinfo.ca. Students in grades 10, 11 and 12 can request a locker by completing Request for a Locker Form. Please note: students must be logged into their OCSB accounts in order to access the form.

Students in grades 7&8 will receive additional support locating their lockers on the first day of school with their homeroom teachers.

All students must have a combination lock, not a keyed lock.

Safe Arrival - Attendance App

SafeArrival is the application we use at St Peter to make it easier, faster and more convenient for families to report absences and late arrivals to school.  With SafeArrival, there is no need to call the school and leave a message. Instead, you can quickly and securely report your child’s absence using one of three options. For more details on using this tool, please visit the following site.

Parent Permission for Pick Up or Sign/Out *new this year

Late Notification

When students arrive late to school, they will sign in to the office and parents will receive an automatic email notification. Please ensure you have submitted permission through SafeArrival.

Student Fees

Student fees are $45 per student. For families with mulitple students at St. Patrick's, the first fee is $45 and any subsequen fees are $30. Student fees can be paid on School Cash Online
