Message From The Principal

The first week of school is in the books at St. Patrick's! It was wonderful to welcome the students back to school for the 2026/27 school year. While the school newsletter will be published monthly, this is a special edition designed to provide continued support to our community as we navigate the beginning of another school year.

New and Noteworthy:

• Save the date! You are invited to the Family Expo on Saturday, September 26th at St Paul’s High School. Explore workshops, find support and connect at our community resource cafe. Everyone is welcome!  Event details and registration will be posted HERE soon! 

• The Ottawa Catholic School Board (OCSB) is pleased to invite nominations for representatives to serve on our Special Education Advisory Committee (SEAC) for the upcoming term. The deadline is September 30th. SEAC plays a vital role in ensuring that the voices of parents, associations, and community members who advocate for students with exceptionalities are reflected in the Board's special education programs and services. Meet the Teacher

On Thursday, September 17, we will be holding our annual Meet the Teacher night at St. Patrick's HS. We would like to invite our families to come out a little early and join us for a BBQ from 3:30 pm through 4:45 pm. The BBQ will take place near our Heron Road parking lot, so please make your way around the building to the BBQ. Please order items through School Cash Online. There will only be limited quantities available for purchase the night of the event, so please order through School Cash Online to guarantee your food items.

Items available include:

     * $7 - Hamburger (gluten free), Drink, and Treat

     * $7 - Hot Dog (halal), Drink, and Treat

     * $7 - Hot Dog (plant based) , Drink, and Treat

If you require a lettuce wrap option (for gluten free requests), please indicate it on the order so we can plan accordingly. Additional items are also available for purchase:

Catholic School Council

St. Patrick’s School council will hold its first meeting on September 21st and will elect this year’s executive members. Please come out and join us at 7-8 pm in the St. Patrick's Learning Commons. 

Council meetings and elected positions are open to all parents and caregivers. School council is a forum for learning about, discussing and contributing to school direction and events, and we run educational, social, and fundraising events throughout the year. Student Fees

Student fees are $45 per student. For families with mulitple students at St. Patrick's, the first fee is $45 and any subsequen fees are $30. Student fees can be paid on School Cash Online

Chromebook Loans and Tech Agreements

Chromebook Loan Programs for Grades 9 and 10 students

We're excited to provide all grade 9 and 10 students with Chromebooks for the entirety of the 2026-2027 school year. Parents/Guardians are asked to use the appropriate link below to complete and submit the opt-in form no later than Friday, September 11, 2026.

Responsible Use of Tech Agreement for Grades 7 through 12 students

Parents/Guardians are asked to complete the Responsible Use of Tech Agreement form that is found in the Parent Portal. As students use technology on a regular basis in their classes, this form needs to be completed. We would ask that the form be completed no later than Friday, September 11, 2026.

Student Medical Forms

For students with life threatening medical conditions we required updated medical forms. If you have previously submitted forms for your student, please ensure that the information shared is accurate. 

If we do not have a plan of care for your student with a life threatening medical condition, please complete the corresponding medical Plan of Care form on the OCSB website and if necessary the Request and Consent for Administration of Medication form.

St Patrick’s is a uniformed school and our uniform supplier is Top Marks.  All families are asked to open an account with Top Marks if you have not already done so and to place your order directly to the company.  Top Marks will deliver the uniform to your home address.  Please visit their website at: www.topmarks.ca with the St Patrick’s High School code PAT02

UNIFORM INCLUDES:

TOP (all items from Top Marks with St Patrick’s logo)

• white polo shirt / white blouse or white long or short sleeve shirt with St Patrick’s school logo

• St. Patrick’s V-neck sweater, Crew neck sweater, or rugby shirt are permitted; older versions of the uniform (i.e. the St. Patrick's Intermediate hooded sweatshirt) are no longer part of the uniform

BOTTOM 

• black dress pants/cargo pants 

• black skort or tartan kilt

• black cargo shorts

PLEASE NOTE: 

• 7/8 physical education uniform includes black gym shorts and a grey t-shirt and is mandatory for all grade 7 and 8 students.

If your order has not arrived by the first day of school, we ask that your child arrive at school in black bottoms (dress pants, cargo pants, skirt - NO jeans, leggings or jogging pants) and a white-collared polo or dress shirt. 

Donation of used uniforms for families in need would be greatly appreciated to help replenish our Used Uniform supply. 

Spirit Wear

Spirit Wear is now available for purchase at TuckGear.ca. Items are on sale through Friday, September 11, 2026. Once orders are received at school in October, students will be called down to the Learning Commons to pick up their item(s). 

All sales are FINAL. There are NO RETURNS OR EXCHANGES as items are custom created based on orders received. Please refer to the sizing charts available for each item on the website. 

Please note that Toques and Caps are Fashion Items and are NOT Spirit Wear items. Therefore, they are NOT to be worn during school hours. 

Safe Arrival - Attendance App

SafeArrival is the application we use at St Peter to make it easier, faster and more convenient for families to report absences and late arrivals to school.  With SafeArrival, there is no need to call the school and leave a message. Instead, you can quickly and securely report your child’s absence using one of three options. For more details on using this tool, please visit the following site.

Late Notification

When students arrive late to school, they will sign in to the office and parents will receive an automatic email notification. Please ensure you have submitted permission through SafeArrival.
